If you’re looking for the absolute coolest spot in the Valley to catch a movie and grab a bite, RoadHouse Cinemas at the Talking Stick Pavilions is it. This place completely redefines the whole dinner-and-a-movie experience. They are open every single day of the year, featuring a menu crafted by an award-winning chef, a great selection of local craft beers, and their famous “X-Rated” milkshake. Add in giant bowls of gourmet popcorn with real butter, artisan gelato, and ultra-comfy recliners with server call buttons, and you’ve got the perfect night out.
The Scottsdale Dance Lessons crew traded the studio mirrors for the gorgeous outdoor patio to bring some rhythm to RoadHouse’s legendary Wednesday Trivia Night.
The theme? Western Night. And we absolutely understood the assignment.
Dusting Off the Boots
We showed up fully geared out in our favorite cowboy boots and hats, ready to match the energy. The weather was beautiful as everyone gathered on the patio, grabbing food, ordering drinks from the bar, and setting up for some friendly competition.
With a massive projector screen lighting up the outdoor space, the trivia kicked off at 6:30 PM. The questions covered every Western movie you could possibly think of under the sun, from the old-school classics to modern favorites. Plus, RoadHouse hooked everyone up with an extended happy hour just for trivia players, so the local beers and specialty drinks were in full supply.
Intermission Means Line Dancing
You can’t have a Western night with a bunch of dance instructors around and not expect some dancing. During the two trivia intermissions, we took over the patio to lead a spontaneous group lesson, showcasing just how much fun you can have when you learn how to line dance.
We got the whole crowd moving, breaking down the steps to some absolute staples:
- “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” to get the rhythm flowing.
- “Copperhead Road” to up the energy.
- “Cotton Eye Joe” for a fast-paced, high-energy finale.
Whether people were wearing cowboy boots or sneakers, everyone gave it their all. Line dancing is all about letting loose, laughing, and having fun, and this crowd absolutely crushed it. Seeing a patio full of people enjoying drinks, hanging out under the Arizona sky, and nailing the steps together was the absolute highlight of our week.
Let’s Do It Again!
A huge thank you to RoadHouse Cinemas for hosting such a fantastic event, and to everyone who jumped in and danced with us. We had an absolute blast.
